Genus Magelona

F. Müller, 1858

Description:
Prostomium shovel-shaped with two long and papillated palps.
Peristomium limited to lips.
First segment achaetous. Tentacular, dorsal and ventral cirri absent.
Parapodia biramous without aciculae. Chaetiger 9 modified sometimes with modified capillary chaetae. Other chaetae capillaries and dentate hooded hooks. Gills absent.
Pygidium with two cirri.
