Description:
As Bispira volutacornis , except: ventral collar lappets involuted at the mid-line and separated by a small gap. Distinct gaps between ventral ends of tori and adjacent ventral shields. Bundles of chaetae fairly prominent (B. crassicornis-detail).
Size:
Up to 80 mm for 100 segments.
Tube:
Cylindrical, encrusted with mud, sand or shells.
Colour:
Thorax greenish, Abdomen yellowish or reddish. In alcohol colourless except for red bands on crown.
Habitat:
Unknown.
Distribution:
Arctic, North Pacific, North Atlantic to Mediterranean, northern North Sea.
