Description:
A scale-worm with an oblong body.
Prostomium bilobed, without antennae, palps or eyes. Without a visible facial tubercle.
First segment with cirrophores directed anteriorly.
Eleven pairs of scales (on segments 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 and 20). Scales are not described. Other segments with a dorsal cirrus. Ventral cirrus on all segments.
Notopodium short; neuropodium long, tapering distally to an acicular process, with a bulbous papilla on the posterodorsal face. Notopodial chaetae more slender than neuropodial chaetae, with faint spinose rows. Neuropodial chaetae numerous, transparent and flattened, with spinose rows (D. paucidentatum-detail).
Proboscis with seven terminal papillae and two pairs of jaws.

Up to 16 mm for 28 segments.
Colour:
Preserved specimens pale.
Habitat:
In the Skagerrak between 427 and 450 m.
Distribution:
Skagerrak.
