Description:
Body slender, club-shaped, broadest anteriorly.
Body covered with long epidermal papillae. Not encrusted with sand like other species of the genus.
Prostomium and peristomium retractile, with eight gills and two broad palps, without eyes.
Cephalic cage formed by long chaetae of the first four chaetigers. They are annulated, curved, longest on the first segment, not iridescent.
Notopodial chaetae all capillary and annulated. Neuropodial chaetae capillary and spines with annulated shafts (P. falcata-detail).
Size:
Incomplete, 20 mm for 29 segments.
Colour:
Grey.
Habitat:
Muddy bottoms.
Distribution:
Northern North Sea, Skagerrak. Found only a few times.
