Description:
Body moderately long, thorax cylindrical and broader than abdomen.
Prostomium with three distinct lobes, without eyespots. Tentacles very few but extraordinarily thick, smooth. Five long thin chaetae of segment 3 on each side. Gills in two groups slightly separated at middorsum; the three gills of each group arranged in a triangle, with two in an anterior row. Gills connected by a high crescent-shaped membrane reaching to the chaetae of segment 3.
Thorax with 14 segments with notopodia with capillary chaetae, the posterior eleven also with neuropodia with uncini. Probably twelve uncinigerous abdominal segments. Thoracic uncini with 3-6 rows teeth with up to seven teeth in each row, abdominal uncini with several rows of teeth (A. macroglossus-detail).
Pygidial appendages unknown.

Habitat:
Very few records, on mixed bottoms (clay and stones) at depths ranging from 36 to 75 m.
Distribution:
Swedish west coast, Skagerrak, North Møre, northern North Sea.
