Autolytus inermis

Description:
Prostomium rounded with four eyes with lenses, paired eyes often in contact with each other. Palps hardly visible dorsally. Median antenna almost 2x as long as lateral ones. Lateral antennae at least 3x as long as prostomium.
Dorsal tentacular cirri as long as lateral antennae, ventral much shorter. Dorsal cirri of first segment, as long as or shorter than median antenna. Dorsal cirri of following segments shorter than segment width. Blades of compound chaetae bidentate, secondary tooth larger than terminal tooth. Pharynx anteriorly with 12-25 rudimentary teeth or smooth.

Size:
Body up to 8 mm long for 62 segments.

Colour:
Body transparent or anterior orange-coloured to red. Tips of anterior appendages red.

Habitat:
Between stones, shells and seaweeds.

Distribution:
Northeast Atlantic up to English Channel, northern North Sea and Skagerrak.
