Autolytus rubrolineatus

Description:
Prostomium rounded with four relative large eyes. Paired eyes in contact with each other. Palps large. Median antenna longer than lateral ones. Lateral antennae more than 5x as long as prostomium.
Dorsal tentacular cirri about as long as lateral antennae, ventral ones half that size. Dorsal cirri of first segment as long as median antenna. Dorsal cirri of second segment hardly longer than following ones. All other dorsal cirri unequal and alternating in size, and shorter or as long as segment width. Anterior parapodia with up to 5 aciculae. Blades of compound chaetae bidentate, secondary tooth larger than terminal tooth. Parapodia with an additional needle shaped chaeta, serrated at the shaft. Pharynx with with 24-34 fine unequal teeth; 8-9 larger ones separated by 1-4 smaller teeth.

Size:
Body up to 13 mm long for 90 segments.

Colour:
Dorsally with bright red lateral line from first segment to posterior. Tips of anterior appendages reddish.

Habitat:
The few individuals found so far were living on dead Lophohelia and between hydroids.

Distribution:
Northern North Sea and Skagerrak.
