Description:
Body is thin and long, tapering to the posterior end.
Body dorsally and ventrally densely papillated.
Prostomium often retracted, with five antennae. Four kidney-shaped eyes. First segment with one pair of tubercles. Following segments dorsally with one transversal row of two big and two small tubercles with terminal papillae. Parapodia short and conical, papillated, with a bigger papilla for ventral cirrus and with compound chaetae.
Proboscis is cylindrical and covered with small papillae.
Size:
Up to 6 mm long for 30 segments.
Colour:
Yellowish white.
Distribution:
Skagerrak, English Channel, Arctic, North Atlantic to Mediterranean and Black Sea.
