Euclymene lindrothi

Description:
Body small, thin and cylindrical.
Prostomium oval, longer than wide, with an encircling rim, higher anteriorly, laterally and posteriorly weakly incised. Nuchal slits, parallel, extending posteriorly to the beginning of the lateral incisions. Without ocelli.
18 or 19 chaetigers. The mid-body segments are very long, posterior segments shorter.
The anterior 8 chaetigers with a glandular band, on segments 3 and 4 it extends almost over the whole segment. The following segments with glandular areas around neuropodia and between notopodia.
All notopodial chaetae are winged, not feathery at the tip. Anterior segments with reduced hooks ventrally. The following segments bear normal hooks with 1-4 thin hair under the terminal tooth. Posterior 5 segments without chaetae (E. lindrothi-detail).
Pygidium funnel-shaped, with 5-7 long cirri and many shorter cirri and 1 long ventral cirrus in between.

Size:
32 mm or more for 18 or 19 chaetigers.

Tube:
Thin, covered with mud and fine sand.

Colour:
Fixed, pale, with yellowish to reddish brown ring behind the parapodia of 5th chaetiger and possibly also the following segments.

Distribution:
Skagerrak.
