Eumida arctica

Description:
Body small, posteriorly tapered. Prostomium oval. Median antenna slightly longer than paired ones, situated in the middle of the prostomium. Proboscis diffusely covered with minute papillae. Longest tentacular cirri reaching about segment 6. Ventral tentacular cirri short, flattened, distally pointed. Dorsal cirri of median segments oval, thick, longer than broad. Ventral cirri similar but smaller. Pygidial cirri oval, 1.5 times as long as broad. Minute median pygidial papilla present (E. arctica-detail).

Size:
Up to 5.5 mm for 34 segments.

Colour:
Living animals yellowish brown with white pigment present dorsally on segments 2 and 3. Each segment with three dark green spots dorsally. In alcohol yellowish-brown.

Habitat:
Unknown.

Distribution:
Arctic, northeast Atlantic, northern Ă–resund.
