Exogone furcifera

Description:
Prostomium rounded quadrangular with four eyes, with lenses, in a trapezoid arrangement. Palps rounded triangular. Antennae of different shape. Median antenna long, lateral antennae very short and oval.
Tentacular cirri tiny. Dorsal cirri small oval, like the lateral antennae, present on all parapodia; on second parapodium a little smaller. Ventral cirri even smaller. Blades of compound chaetae long or short, bidentate. Upper simple chaetae present on parapodia from 5-9. Posterior parapodia with an additional lower simple chaetae (E. furcifera-chaetae). Pharynx with one anterior tooth.

Size:
Body up to 7 mm long for 70 segments.

Colour:
Transparent.

Distribution:
Northern North Sea, Skagerrak.
