Description:
Operculum with a distal cuticular cup about 0.1 mm in diameter. Longitudinal ridges on the cup give the effect of a scalloped or castellated margin under certain angles of illumination. The cup is distal to a heart-shaped ampulla and peduncle with side-branches.
Collar chaetae plain and bordered.
Size:
Up to 5 mm long.
Tube:
About 0.2 mm in diameter and slightly flexible, usually part of a delicate tracery of tubes that are often branched.
Colour:
Abdomen whitish, transparent. Crown greenish-white.
Habitat:
In rock clefts; sublittoral.
Distribution:
English Channel up to Straight of Dover, Mediterranean, Australia.
