Macrochaeta bansei

Hartmann-Schröder, 1974

Description:
Prostomium with a broadly curved anterior edge, without eyes. Palps unknown. 4 pairs of threadlike gills on segments 2-5, clearly longer than the segment width. Body smooth, only one short club-shaped interramal papilla and 4 likewise on the pygidium. Ventral hooks start at the 4th segment. Dorsal chaetae normally starting at the 5th segment (M. bansei-detail).
Pygidium short, rounded with 4 papillae.

Size:
Up to 1.12 mm for 16 segments (13 chaetigers).

Colour:
Dorsally with shiny pigmentation that forms a weak cross-lining.

Habitat:
Unknown.

Distribution:
Northern North Sea (59° N).
