Nephtys cirrosa

Description:
Body long and slender.
Prostomium pentagonal with two antennae and two similar palps.
First segment with dorsal tentacular cirri reduced to small humps, ventral ones a little longer than palps.
Parapodia: postchaetal lamellae of notopodia simple and rounded, longer than the acicular lobes, of neuropodia oval to hart-shaped, likewise longer than the acicular lobes.
Acicular lobes of anterior and posterior parapodia simple and rounded, middle parapodia with unequally bilobed acicular lobes. Neuropodial postchaetal lamellae without vascular structures.
Gills start at segment 4 to the posterior end.
Pharynx with 22 longitudinal rows of 9 to 10 papillae (N. cirrosa-proboscis).

Size:
Up to 100 mm long for 95 segments.

Colour:
Yellow-whitish, gills red.

Habitat:
Typically marine, down to 170 m deep.

Distribution:
Widely distributed in the area.
