Description:
Body thin and thread-loke.
Prostomium rounded, broader than long, with four eyes with lenses in a trapezoid arrangement. Palps hardly visible dorsally. Median antenna a little longer than lateral ones. Lateral antennae thread-like and more than 3x as long as the prostomium. Nuchal epaulettes reach the first chaetiger.
Dorsal tentacular cirri longer than lateral antennae, not much longer than segment width, ventral a little shorter. Only first segment with dorsal cirri, as long as or a little shorter than dorsal tentacular cirri. All other parapodia without dorsal cirri.
Parapodia with two types of compound chaetae, one type with a tiny teeth and one larger tooth, and the second type with needle-shaped chaetae. Anterior parapodia with additionally 1-2 bidentate simple chaetae.
Pharynx slightly twisted. Trepan with 6-10 small teeth.
Size:
Body up to 15 mm long for 61 segments.
Colour:
Greenish with more or less dark-red colouring.
Habitat:
From 0-5 m, between stones and shells.
Distribution:
North- and South Atlantic, Mediterranean, Irish Sea up to Skagerrak.
