Thalassochaetus palpifoliaceus

Description:
Prostomium broadly rounded, with two thick ventrolateral palps, two nuchal slits near the posterior margin and dark glands in the middle.
All parapodia biramous, but those on the first and last chaetiger without cirri. The others with very short, conical cirri. Up to six compound chaetae per bundle.
Pygidial cirri leaf-like, with a more or less demarcated thin tip.

Size:
0.6 mm for 8 chaetigers.

Colour:
Yellow.

Habitat:
Interstitial in sand; upper sublittoral to 12 m.

Distribution:
Bay of Kiel.
