Amphiglena mediterranea

(Leydig, 1851)

Description:
Thorax with 9-10, abdomen with up to 30 chaetigers. Five pairs of radioli, without membrane. Collar limited to two triangular lobes on the peristomium. Thoracic uncini with companion chaetae. Short spatulate chaetae present in thoracic and anterior abdominal segments. Pygidium with 4-6 eye spots.

Size:
Up to 15 mm.

Tube:
Transparent.

Colour:
Body whitish or yellowish; crown greenish.

Habitat:
In crevices of rock, holdfasts and sponges; intertidal and shallow water.

Distribution:
World-wide. English Channel, northern North Sea.
